Chinese Medicinal Herb Farm

Nine Month Program

Chinese Medicinal Herb Farm 9-Month Course

A hands-on experience in all aspects of organically growing and harvesting of efficacious Asian herbs. We will follow the seasonal progression of growing herbs in the nursery to field production and will cover soil management, planting, cultivation, through the harvesting and drying of the crops. A portion of each session will be spent in these farm activities followed by a discussion relating to, and rounding out, the focus of the day. Topics will include cultivation in the nursery and field, herb conservation, farming with wild qualities, harvesting, etc. It is the goal of this program to give a comprehensive overview so participants have the basic tools to grow good quality Asian medicinal plants.

Beginning each day, Sean Fannin, founder of the Center for Traditional Health Arts, will lead a session of Medical Qigong. This introduction and practice specifically develops Quiet and Moving Qigong practices while gaining practical understanding of the theories.
